DATES AND TRAVEL
Why is the main tournament taking place on a Wednesday and Thursday (June 4-5)?
Our goals in selecting dates were to make the tournament as accessible as possible for visitors coming for the main weekend of World Pride (June 6-8); to minimize conflicts with other events; and to take place at high-quality venues. June 4-5 are the best days to achieve these goals.
We recognize that people may need to take time off from work to participate. However, hosting World Pride in DC is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, and we are committed to providing a tremendous experience that we hope will make the trade-off worthwhile!
Are hotel blocks with discounted rates available?
There are a number of hotel options available through Capital Pride and Team DC, which is organizing a broader sports festival during World Pride. Please refer to this link for more information (click “hotel booking” from the second link). In addition, we have a block of 40 discounted rooms at the Comfort Inn Conference Center near Liberty Sports Park from June 3-6. You will receive information about those rooms in your confirmation email when you register.
Where will the tournament be held?
We are thrilled to be hosting our tournament at two of the preeminent sports venues in the DC area!
The first day of the tournament — featuring all teams and a festival at the fields — will take place at Liberty Sports Park (home of last summer’s Turf Wars on ESPN), which has ten lighted football/soccer fields (six turf, four grass) and is one of the best athletic complexes in the Mid-Atlantic. Transportation will be provided.
The second day of the tournament — featuring championships and other selected playoff games and events — will take place at Greene Stadium, Howard University, a 7,000 seat Division I football arena that is home to the Howard University Bison (and a short walk to the restaurants and nightlife on U Street).
OTHER SPORTS
What other sports are offering tournaments during WorldPride?

Do I need to register for the Capital Cup to play in the Stonewall DC Kickball World Classic?
No, you do not need to register with the Capital Cup to play kickball, as we are handling our registration separately. Just follow this link to sign up for kickball.
What about other Stonewall sports?
We are thrilled to announce that our friends at Stonewall Dodgeball DC are offering $25 off their tournament — to be held May 31 at the Convention Center — to anyone who registers for the Stonewall DC Kickball World Classic.
