Frequently Asked Questions
Registration and Fees
When will registration for the tournament open?
Registration will open in late January or early February, and will likely run until March or early April (depending on space). The specific dates will be announced as soon as possible.
How much will registration cost?
The cost for registration has not been finalized. We understand that World Pride is already going to be an expensive time — and that a core pillar of Stonewall is to provide a low-cost experience— so we will do our best to keep registration fees to a minimum.
Tournament Structure and Format
What if I want to play in the tournament but can’t (or don’t want to try to) find a team?
No problem! There will be a free agent division with teams composed of players who sign up individually (or in small groups). More information to come.
Dates and Travel
Why is the main tournament taking place on a Wednesday and Thursday (June 4-5)?
Our goals in selecting dates were to make the tournament as accessible as possible for visitors coming for the main weekend of World Pride (June 6-8); to minimize conflicts with other events; and to take place at high-quality venues. June 4-5 are the best days to achieve these goals.
We recognize that people may need to take time off from work to participate. However, hosting World Pride in DC is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, and we are committed to providing a tremendous experience that we hope will make the trade-off worthwhile!
Are hotel blocks with discounted rates available?
There are a number of hotel options available through Capital Pride and Team DC, which is organizing a broader sports festival during World Pride. Please check these links (1, 2) for more information (click “hotel booking” from the second link). In addition, we are working on lodging discounts (especially near our June 4 tournament venue) and will provide more information on that once we finalize the details.
