Why I joined Stonewall Kickball DC: Moving to D.C. with not knowing but only one other person was extremely nerve wracking; however, a last-minute decision to join SKDC for this current season was the best decision I could have made. It not only has given me a strong sense of community in a new city, it has also provided me with an opportunity to more comfortably express my queerness more openly. With being on the board, I am hoping to give community members (new or old) the same opportunity that SKDC has given me. Additionally, I think that friendly competition is always a good thing!
