About Tarik S. Pierce
Tarik Pierce was a beloved member of the Stonewall Sports family, Just The Tip, and local community. Tarik passed away unexpectedly due to natural causes in 2023. Tarik was a pillar of our community, leaving a lasting impact on D.C.’s LGBTQ+ people through his work in Stonewall Sports, Capital Pride Alliance (which honored Tarik with a Heroes Award in 2022), and the Department of Veterans Affairs. He lived a life dedicated to serving others, believing we must step up and lead our communities.
Tarik exemplified the values of our Stonewall community, playing with a competitive spirit, welcoming all with open arms, and fiercely advocating the needs of local nonprofits.
About the Award
The TSP Spirit of SKDC Award was created in honor of Tarik’s memory and his embodiment of our Chapter’s values. It celebrates those that have best demonstrated their commitment to our values and to inspire others to take the journey in improving community.
