Stonewall Kickball Washington D.C. aims to create a diverse, equitable, and inclusive community. It is necessary to charge registration fees to be able to offer programming, but financial hardship should not be a barrier to participation. This program is intended to ensure that all individuals can participate in Stonewall Kickball Washington D.C. regardless of financial means.
Stonewall Kickball Washington D.C. recognizes that financial hardship may come from either low income or high expenses, so there is no income threshold to qualify. Members only must affirm that without financial assistance they would be unable to participate in the Activity. Members may seek either a 50% or 100% discounted registration fee. Members may receive financial assistance up to two times per year, once each per spring and fall seasons. To receive financial assistance, members must complete the Fee Waiver Application no later than two weeks prior to registration. There are a limited discounted registrations available each season based on available funding for the Financial Assistance Program and applications will be reviewed on a first-come, first-served basis.
Data submitted through the Fee Waiver Application will only be accessible to the Commissioner, Director, Diversity, Equity + Inclusion (DEI), VP, Operations, and Director, Leagues. Information regarding who has submitted or been approved/denied for waivers will not be shared with any other Board member or general Stonewall Kickball D.C. member.
Applications will be reviewed by the Director, DEI who will consider applications on a case-by-case basis. They have the authority to deny applications if deemed appropriate. Denied applicants may appeal to the Commissioner. The Director, DEI will provide approved applicants with a discount code for registration. This discount code is only to be used by approved applicants and a full list of approved applicants will be provided to the Director, Leagues. Applicants found to be sharing the discount code will have their registration revoked and not be able to play for the season.
Funds for the Financial Assistance Program are included in Stonewall Kickball Washington D.C.’s annual budget under DEI Programs. Once the allocated funds for the year are spent, no more assistance may be given without approval from the Board of Directors in the form of amending the budget.
